Different Uses Of The Keyring

Published: June 29, 2011

When I think about a keyring, I always think about how amazing it is that one small thing can bring so much stuff together. Having twenty different keys seem to be no problem because of the fact that we have keyrings. But now imagine not having a keyring or not having a way to keep all of those keys together; surely it would take you at least twenty minutes to surf through your purse and find the right key for your car, door or safe.

How great would it be if we could use keyrings for absolutely everything in life? Fantastic off course but not completely possible. While most people only use keyrings for the purpose of holding keys, you might be surprised to see some of the innovative uses that many have come up with. The best part about keyrings is that they are inexpensive and very easy to find and purchase. They can be used to create a lot of creative and fun things for you or as a way to keep the kids busy.

There are a lot of different projects you can take on when you have a few extra keyrings lying around.

Making Your Own Album

A fun and inexpensive way to keep all of your photos together is by laminating your photos, then press a hole into the tip of each photo and add all of them to a keyring. Ensure that you don’t add too much so you can still flip through them.

This idea can also be great for helping your kids learn their alphabet, maths or signs. Print out the words or letters you want your child to know. Cut each word out into the shape of either a small block, heart or whatever you feel will be most likely to attract your young ones attention. Then add all of these cards to a keyring and ensure that you and your child go through the sets of cards each day.

Making Your Own Keyring Chains

As a girl I think the more glitz and glam something is the better. I love buying things that are out of the ordinary, but sometimes this can get quite expensive. When it comes to a key chain we all want something unique for either our car or house and there’s no reason why you have to spend a lot of money to find that; simply make your own.
When it comes to making a key chain you can use almost anything to make it as unique as possible. Feathers, soft toys, small photo frames and even beads can all make great key chains.

If you want an activity that will keep the kids busy then give them a ton of keyrings with chains and art supplies and allow them to make their own designs.
